What is “Knotted vs. Unknotted”?
The complex method of restringing pearls involves knotting between each pearl to insure the security of each pearl. Beads and gemstones can be delicate, especially cultured pearls, and knotting prevents them rubbing together and damaging the surface. Nacre on pearls is particularly delicate.
